Alopex arrives as a paid DLC character, wielding her signature kama sickles to slice through enemies with fluid, deadly arcs. Her close-range combat is complemented by the ability to hurl kunai for explosive damage bursts. A standout feature of her kit is a temporary invulnerability state, allowing her to target multiple foes in quick succession without taking a hit. Notably, any in-game Ninja Powers that typically affect shuriken will also modify her kunai, making combinations with elements like Flame or Water particularly devastating.
Accompanying Alopex are five new Artifacts, also part of the paid DLC, each designed to alter gameplay in unique and strategic ways. The Polar Bear Netsuke, for instance, causes Final Strike to unleash a line of flames every ten seconds, with its cooldown cutting in half when health drops below fifty percent. The Maltese Hamster slows your Tool charge but significantly boosts its damage output. Meanwhile, the Channel Six Mini Camera applies a similar trade-off for your Special ability. For mobility fans, the Hot Cocoa (with Marshmallows) artifact reduces your dash count by one but grants a burst of speed with each use. Finally, Buddy the Wraith provides a persistent allied Utrom Wraith that gains levels and evolves throughout your entire run.
The free portion of this update is packed with reasons to jump back into the fray. Arcade Mode receives a serious difficulty spike with the introduction of four new “Pepper” challenges.
