Netflix is expanding its content library beyond traditional television and film by introducing video podcasts to its streaming platform. This strategic move involves collaborations with Spotify’s podcast studio and The Ringer, bringing a curated selection of sixteen series to subscribers. Among the featured programs are popular titles such as The Bill Simmons Podcast, Conspiracy Theories, and various Ringer productions focusing on the NFL, NBA, Fantasy Football, and Formula 1.

Initial broadcasts will not include commercial breaks inserted by Netflix, though advertisements originally embedded by Spotify will remain intact. The streaming service already supports several original podcasts tied to its own programming, including You Cannot Make This Up, Skip Intro, and We Have the Receipts, which are also accessible on YouTube. Earlier this year, Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos indicated the company’s interest in video podcasts during an earnings discussion, observing that as the format gains traction, it would naturally find a home on Netflix.

Spotify appears equally committed to broadening the distribution of its podcast offerings, with plans to extend similar partnerships to additional creators in the future. A complete lineup of the podcasts scheduled for Netflix is available for review on the company’s official website.
