The Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) is actively expanding Egypt’s thriving digital economy into new regions, with its latest employment fair held at the Digital Egypt Innovation Hub (CREATIVA) in Beni Suef. This event underscores a strategic push to generate high-quality tech employment for young professionals in tier-2 cities, directly linking local talent with major industry players to strengthen the nation’s standing as an international IT and business process outsourcing destination.
Organizers brought together eleven prominent local and international companies, which collectively presented more than 650 career openings. The roles spanned critical sectors including IT services, business process outsourcing (BPO), and contact center operations. Participating employers featured well-known names such as VOIS, Aura Communication, VXI, Swift Act, and Business Spike Agency, alongside other firms like Mashroak, Modern Technology, and Arkan for Economic Investments. The collaborative spirit of the fair was further amplified by the involvement of industry groups like the Digital Economy and Technology General Division and the global student organization AIESEC.
During the event, Engineer Mahmoud Sofrata, ITIDA’s Vice President for ICT Markets Development, engaged directly with applicants and company representatives. In a special session with attendees, he outlined the essential components for building a successful career in the modern digital landscape. He emphasized that a commitment to skill development is non-negotiable, identifying three critical areas: achieving fluency in artificial intelligence technologies, honing language capabilities for the global stage, and mastering vital soft skills such as collaboration, flexibility, and clear communication.
Sofrata expressed strong optimism about the potential on display, noting, “The ambition, energy, and creativity of Egyptian youth were clearly evident.” He reinforced the idea that nurturing talent is an ongoing process crucial for empowering the next generation to excel in competitive job markets both at home and abroad.
Interest in the fair was substantial, with registration numbers exceeding 2,000 and over 700 candidates participating on-site. To ensure easy access for all applicants, ITIDA collaborated with Silicon Waha, the entity responsible for managing technology parks in Egypt’s tier-2 cities, to arrange complimentary transportation from central Beni Suef to the CREATIVA hub.
Beyond the recruitment booths, the agenda included a series of informative workshops and personalized career guidance sessions. These were designed to help candidates better understand market expectations. Topics covered ranged from effective interview techniques and the growing influence of AI in customer experience services to the enduring value of interpersonal abilities. Additional discussions provided insights into technology’s transformative effect on various industries, pathways for building a career in contact centers, and foundational advice for entering the freelancing world.
By strategically hosting these employment fairs outside the capital, ITIDA is effectively decentralizing economic opportunity. This approach ensures that the benefits of Egypt’s digital transformation reach a broader population, harnessing the country’s extensive human resources to fuel a globally competitive technology sector.
