GITEX 2025 has officially opened its doors, uniting a record-breaking assembly of technology pioneers, government leaders, and investors to explore the frontiers of artificial intelligence and the intelligence economy. The event, running from October 13 to 17, 2025, at the Dubai World Trade Centre, hosts more than 6,800 exhibitors, 2,000 startups, and 1,200 investors from over 180 countries. This milestone 45th edition underscores Dubai’s pivotal role as a global nexus where public and private sectors converge to address the challenges and harness the opportunities of an AI-driven future.
High-level ministerial dialogues set the tone for the week, with UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism H.E. Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri emphasizing the nation’s commitment to an innovation-led economic model. He articulated how the UAE is actively shaping, not just joining, the global innovation race, building a resilient, knowledge-based economy grounded in advanced technology.
Ekaterina Zaharieva, Commissioner for Startups, Research and Innovation at the European Commission, joined Dr. Najwa Aaraj, CEO of the Technology Innovation Institute, to discuss the profound influence of deep-tech ecosystems. Zaharieva highlighted the shared vision between the European Union and the UAE, stating that their collaborative journey to drive beneficial innovation begins at GITEX.
A panel on the “Intelligence Super-Cycle” featured Hon. Evan Solomon, Canada’s Minister for AI and Digital Innovation, and Amandeep Gill, the UN Envoy for Digital Technologies. They examined AI’s emergence as the defining economic infrastructure of our century. Minister Solomon praised GITEX as a vital launchpad for entrepreneurs and underscored the importance of international partnerships in creating AI that is trustworthy and built for everyone.
Andrew Feldman, CEO of Cerebras, provided a glimpse into groundbreaking hardware, explaining how his company built the largest chip ever made. BlackBerry launched its mission-critical communications platform, with a senior representative noting it is the only technology certified by numerous governments worldwide for sovereign, classified communications, making it a trusted partner for several G20 governments and eight of the world’s top ten banks.
AWS, the world’s largest cloud company, demonstrated the inherent power of its cloud platform, emphasizing built-in cybersecurity and operational capabilities. The company highlighted the distinct advantage customers gain through the AWS marketplace, allowing them to seamlessly integrate new solutions.
HCL Software unveiled innovations that enable real-time website and application customization using generative AI, alongside enhanced cybersecurity systems and its BigFix endpoint management platform. International participation reached a new peak, with Brazil attending as the Country Partner with its largest-ever delegation.
