Famitsu Sales: Digimon Story: Time Stranger, Granblue Fantasy Switch 2 Debut

Famitsu’s latest hardware and software sales data for Japan is in, and it reveals a dynamic week for new releases and shifting console demand. Nintendo’s Switch 2 led the hardware charts with 28,755 units sold, though this figure represents a notable drop from the previous week’s 32,797 units. The PS5 Digital Edition came in second, moving 10,657 consoles, a healthy increase from last week’s 9,616 units.
Among the rest of the hardware lineup, the Switch OLED sold 4,056 units, while the Switch Lite moved 4,040 units. The standard Switch added 616 units. On the PlayStation front, the PS5 Pro sold 473 units, a steep decline from last week’s 1,020 units, and the base PS5 managed just 264 units. The Xbox Series X Digital Edition saw 109 units, with the Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X trailing at 33 and 15 units, respectively.
Turning to software, Rhythm Heaven Groove for the NSW held the top spot with 126,073 copies sold, bringing its lifetime total to 519,451. The second position went to the new release Magical Girl Witch Trial for the NSW, which debuted with 21,283 units. Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream continued its strong run, adding 20,827 sales to reach an impressive 1,457,949 total.
New entries dominated the rest of the top ten. Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced on PS5 launched at number four with 17,152 copies, and Echoes of Aincrad for the same platform followed with 16,092 units. The Switch 2 saw two notable debuts: Digimon Story: Time Stranger landed at number six with 15,644 units, while Grandblue Fantasy: Relink – Endless Ragnarok placed seventh with 12,544 copies. The NSW version of Digimon Story: Time Stranger also charted at number eight, selling 11,251 units. Rounding out the list were Crazy Chain: Elpis no Kusari on NSW with 9,874 units and Powerful Pro Baseball 2026-2027 on the same platform, which added 8,917 sales to reach a cumulative 168,513.
