Solos has taken a different path with its latest smart glasses, stripping away the camera to create a lighter, more streamlined design that centers on voice-driven AI. The company’s new AirGo A6 smart glasses weigh approximately 19 grams, a significant drop from last year’s AirGo A5, which came in at 36 to 40 grams depending on the frame. That weight reduction is largely thanks to thinner temple arms that still manage to house the speakers, batteries, and core electronics. For context, the recently announced Meta Glasses tip the scales at 54 to nearly 60 grams depending on the style.
While final pricing and availability for the AirGo A6 have not been locked down, Solos confirmed that the glasses will offer “full prescription lens compatibility” and will be available in several styles, including transparent frames that show off the internal components. The device is built around a hands-free AI assistant that responds to voice commands, handles real-time translations, and can manage calendar reminders. With speakers positioned behind the ears, users can listen to music or take calls while still staying aware of ambient sounds.
Alongside the A6, Solos also introduced new privacy-focused accessories for its camera-equipped AirGo V2 smart glasses, which launched last year. A set of transparent, non-powered replacement temples sells for $39 and comes in multiple colors. For those who want to physically block the V2’s camera, a $49 clip-on privacy shield does the job, bundled with clip-on sunglasses that offer UV protection and glare reduction. All of these privacy add-ons are also available together in a $79 bundle.
