The push to integrate unmanned aerial systems into public sector workflows is accelerating, with a leading European software provider securing substantial capital to meet that demand. AirHub, a Netherlands-based company specializing in drone operations management, has closed a €4.4 million funding round. This investment, led by Keen Venture Partners, will fuel the expansion of its platform, which is already utilized by major security organizations like the Dubai Police and the Belgian Federal Police.
This latest financial injection marks a major scaling milestone for the firm. It follows a €1 million seed round raised in April 2024 from LUMO Labs and Lumaux, which was the company’s first external capital after eight years of bootstrapped growth. That initial funding supported a strengthened European footprint and initial forays into markets in the Middle East, Asia, and South America. The new, significantly larger round indicates strong commercial traction within AirHub’s core government and security sectors since last year.
Founded in 2016, AirHub provides the essential operations management layer for drone programs focused on public safety, critical infrastructure inspection, and emergency response. The platform consolidates the complex logistical challenges of running a drone fleet into a unified system. Its capabilities encompass detailed flight planning, simultaneous live video streaming from multiple drones, and ensuring airspace compliance. The software also handles fleet tracking, maintenance scheduling, incident reporting, and digital checklist management, all accessible through a central dashboard and mobile apps for iOS, Android, and DJI controllers.
A critical feature for its clientele is the option for on-premises deployment. This allows public safety and critical infrastructure customers, who often operate in highly regulated or sensitive environments, to host the software on their own servers. The company is co-led by Stephan van Vuren and Thomas Brinkman, both of whom bring firsthand experience as commercial airline pilots and certified drone operators to their leadership roles.
