The 2025 Golden Joystick Awards saw Sandfall Interactive emerge as the undisputed champion of the evening, with its acclaimed title Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 securing an impressive six awards, including the prestigious Studio of the Year honor for the developer. This remarkable achievement places Sandfall in the same league as Larian Studios, which enjoyed a similar sweep back in 2023 by winning an equal number of accolades.
During the award ceremony, a visibly moved Guillaume Broche, CEO and creative director of Sandfall Interactive, expressed his gratitude. “This has been an absolutely unbelievable year for our entire team,” he remarked. “To be perfectly honest, we’re still struggling to process everything that’s happening. I must extend a massive thank you to the incredible people at Sandfall who poured their hearts into this project, and an equally huge thank you to the global community of players who voted for us. Your support means everything.”
The cast of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 also received significant recognition, with Jennifer English and Ben Starr earning awards for their captivating performances as the characters Maelle and Verso, respectively. Beyond the acting honors, the game itself was celebrated for its exceptional craftsmanship, taking home trophies for Best Storytelling, Best Visual Design, and Best Soundtrack.
