The first major update for Hades 2 is now available, delivering faster progression, story enhancements, and quality-of-life improvements that refine the overall player experience. Supergiant Games has rolled out this initial post-launch patch after a week of testing, introducing several adjustments that make unlocking content and reaching the true ending more satisfying. Players will notice quicker advancement in the Fated Prophecies system, expanded narrative sequences, and a variety of buffs to boons and blessings that can dramatically influence gameplay.

This update, which was previously accessible in a preview build, has been fine-tuned based on community feedback. A key addition includes new story events that build toward the true ending, along with additional scenes that occur after the main conclusion. Some existing moments before the credits have also been polished for greater impact. While these changes mean players need to complete more runs to see everything, those who have already finished the story can revisit past events, including the finale, using the new cauldron incantation called ‘Returning to a Real Possibility.’

Several objectives within the Fated List of Minor Prophecies now progress more rapidly, especially those tied to the epilogue. In the Crossroads, decorative items cost less Kudos, and players who purchased them earlier will receive refunds for the price difference. Unlocking certain cauldron incantations has become easier, and the Music Maker now includes the Primordial Chaos theme among its selections.

A number of boons, blessings, and upgrades have received buffs, with some adjustments not present in the original test version. Duo boons in particular are now easier to obtain, thanks to increased appearance chances provided by the Favor boon from Chaos and the Yarn of Ariadne available at the Well of Charon. Given how powerful these boons can be for character builds, this change is especially welcome.

Players can now disable the low-health screen flash, known as the ‘danger pulse,’ which many found distracting during tense moments. This visual alert, while useful, could become frustrating when healing options were limited. Additionally, a new setting allows players to cap their frame rate when VSync is turned off.

Patch 1 for Hades 2 is live across all platforms. Full patch notes are available from Supergiant Games, though players should be aware that some spoilers may still be present. For those looking to optimize their runs, guides covering the best boons and keepsakes can provide helpful direction.
