Ubisoft has released the first update for Star Wars Outlaws on Nintendo Switch 2, bringing a range of visual and gameplay refinements shortly after the game’s launch. This initial patch focuses on improving stability, fixing bugs, and enhancing the overall player experience across various aspects of the game.
Players can expect clearer visuals during fast movement and while using binoculars, with reduced instances of object “pop-in.” The update also addresses flickering in smoke and lighting effects, refines shadow quality near screen edges in urban areas, and improves the appearance of semi-transparent materials like leaves and cloth.
Several gameplay issues have been resolved, including problems with NPC spawns during specific missions such as the “Crashed” quest on Toshara. The likelihood of the protagonist, Kay, becoming stuck while navigating the environment has been reduced. Stealth mechanics have also been tuned, with better hiding and detection behavior when moving through tall grass on the planet Akiva.
Interface adjustments include corrected controller prompts when switching between Joy-Con and Pro Controller setups, as well as a fix for the gadget inventory display not scaling properly in handheld mode with custom settings. Camera movement has been smoothed out when interacting with certain objects in specific ways.
Additional fixes apply to the Wild Card and A Pirate’s Fortune story packs. NPCs now highlight correctly when using Nix to plant cards, and Mynocks are properly visible when attached to the player’s ship. The update also includes various stability improvements and minor bug fixes to ensure a more polished experience.
Star Wars Outlaws is currently available on Nintendo Switch 2, with new comparison footage showcasing its performance relative to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S versions also now accessible.
