AJA Video Systems has launched the BRIDGE LIVE 12G-4, a powerful new IP video workflow solution designed to meet the growing demands of modern broadcast and production environments. This high-density device supports multi-channel UltraHD video with four bi-directional 12G-SDI ports, all housed in a compact 1RU form factor. It enables flexible encoding, decoding, and transcoding across a variety of industry-standard protocols including H.264, H.265, NDI, SRT, RTMP, and HLS. Aimed at reducing per-channel costs, the system is ideal for synchronous video transport, contribution, backhaul, and direct-to-audience streaming applications.
According to AJA President Nick Rashby, the surge in demand for higher quality video has introduced significant workflow challenges due to the mix of SDI and IP equipment in use. The BRIDGE LIVE 12G-4 builds on the success of its predecessors by offering professionals the essential video transport and conversion capabilities required in today’s field operations, now with enhanced support for multi-camera UltraHD workflows.
Developed in collaboration with Comprimato, the system addresses a broad spectrum of use cases including live production, remote workflows, multi-camera podcasts, web-based programming, security and surveillance, and OTT content delivery. It provides a secure and reliable method for multi-channel video backhaul over public internet connections, offering a cost-effective alternative to satellite or dedicated fiber networks.
Users can also stream multi-camera content directly to platforms like YouTube Live, Facebook Live, and Twitch, or encode produced video for high-quality IPTV and OTT distribution.
Key features of the BRIDGE LIVE 12G-4 include pure IP transcode capability, allowing conversion between any IP codec such as NDI and H.264 with SRT or HLS encapsulation. Its four bi-directional 12G-SDI ports support multiple UltraHD encodes and decodes simultaneously.
The device also facilitates bi-directional NDI-SDI stream conversion, enabling integration of remote NDI and non-NDI equipment via RTP, UDP, or SRT. Synchronous multi-channel transport ensures that SDI sources from remote locations arrive with precise timing, making it suitable for live switching and multi-cam recording.
Additional functionalities include HLS input and output for CDN delivery and device compatibility, along with a video preview feature for encoding confirmation.
The AJA BRIDGE LIVE 12G-4 will be demonstrated at IBC 2025 from September 12-15 at the AJA Stand 7.B19. It will soon be available through AJA’s global reseller network with a US MSRP of $17,999. More information can be found on the company’s official website.
