The latest Unseen Diplomacy 2 trailer reveals fresh details about the upcoming espionage sequel, highlighting its immersive roomscale gameplay designed for Quest 3 and PC VR. Developed by Triangular Pixels, the game puts players in the role of a spymaster overseeing an elite agency through a full campaign set in a 90s-inspired retro-futuristic world, complete with analog tech and comic-book aesthetics.
During the recent UploadVR Summer Showcase, the Cornish studio showcased how the game leverages procedural generation to adapt levels to players’ physical spaces. Building on the original 2014 title, the sequel tasks players with infiltrating enemy bases, gathering intel, and avoiding detection while utilizing an arsenal of gadgets. Beyond stealth missions, the game introduces strategic elements like agent recruitment, resource management, and deploying operatives to thwart villains.
A mixed reality mode, exclusive to Quest 3, further enhances immersion by blending virtual environments with real-world surroundings. The trailer follows a technical presentation by Triangular Pixels’ Technical Director John Campbell at Develop: Brighton, where he discussed the challenges of implementing procedural generation in VR.
Unseen Diplomacy 2 is slated for release in 2025 on Meta Quest 3 and Steam, promising a fresh take on espionage gameplay with dynamic, space-responsive mechanics.
