iPhone 18 Pro Battery Specs Leaked Online

▼ Summary

– Leaked figures show the iPhone 18 Pro will have a modest battery increase over the iPhone 17 Pro, with the U.S. eSIM-only model at roughly 4,288 mAh and the China model at 4,056 mAh.
– The battery capacity difference between U.S. and China models is due to the U.S. model lacking a SIM card tray, allowing more internal space for a larger battery.
– The China iPhone 18 Pro battery would gain about 68 mAh (1.7%) over the iPhone 17 Pro, while the U.S. model would gain about 36 mAh (0.8%).
– The iPhone 18 Pro Max is rumored to have a battery capacity around 5,000 mAh for China and 5,100–5,200 mAh for international versions.
– Battery life improvements may still occur due to the more power-efficient A20 Pro chip (2nm process) and Apple’s C2 modem, not just capacity increases.

Alleged battery specifications for Apple’s upcoming iPhone 18 Pro have surfaced online, and early figures point to a relatively minor upgrade over the iPhone 17 Pro.

According to Digital Chat Station, a well-known leaker on the Chinese social media platform Weibo, Apple is currently testing two different battery capacities for the iPhone 18 Pro, depending on the market. The Chinese variant is reportedly equipped with a 4,056 mAh battery, while the U. S. version is said to feature a slightly larger 4,288 mAh battery. This mirrors the approach taken with last year’s iPhone 17 Pro models.

The discrepancy stems from Apple’s decision to remove the physical SIM tray from U. S. iPhones starting with the iPhone 14 series. In contrast, iPhones sold in China continue to include the tray. By eliminating the tray, Apple can allocate more internal space for the battery in U. S. models, resulting in a higher capacity. The iPhone Air is an exception to this rule, as it is eSIM-only globally, including in China.

Comparing the leaked figures to the iPhone 17 Pro reveals a modest increase. The Chinese iPhone 18 Pro model would see a 68 mAh gain (a 1.7% increase) over its predecessor, while the U. S. eSIM-only variant would improve by just 36 mAh (a 0.8% increase).

| Model | iPhone 17 Pro | iPhone 18 Pro (Leak) | Difference | |—|—|—|—| | China / Physical SIM | 3,988 mAh | 4,056 mAh | +68 mAh (+1.7%) | | US / eSIM-only | 4,252 mAh | 4,288 mAh | +36 mAh (+0.8%) |

Earlier this year, Digital Chat Station also claimed that the iPhone 18 Pro Max could see a more significant jump, with battery capacity entering the “5,000 mAh” range. The leaker suggested approximately 5,000 mAh for the Chinese version and between 5,100 mAh and 5,200 mAh for international variants.

It remains unclear whether these figures for the iPhone 18 Pro come from a regulatory database or supply chain sources regarding device samples, so they should be treated as unconfirmed for now.

Even if the battery capacity gains appear modest, they do not necessarily translate to a small improvement in battery life. The iPhone 18 Pro is expected to be powered by the A20 Pro chip, built on TSMC’s cutting-edge 2nm process, which should offer greater power efficiency. Additionally, the devices are likely to feature Apple’s C2 modem, which could further enhance battery performance.

The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are anticipated to launch in September, bringing a smaller Dynamic Island, a simplified Camera Control, and an upgraded main camera with a variable aperture.
