Sales figures for video games rarely see the light of day unless a title crosses a major threshold or delivers a truly standout performance. Most of the time, the industry relies on rankings and estimates to piece together how a new release is actually performing.

That is exactly the situation with Saros, Sony’s latest first-party PS5 exclusive, which officially launched just a few days ago on 30th April 2026. Based on the early data we have, the game appears to have gotten off to a somewhat sluggish start.

The PlayStation Blog recently published the PS Store charts for April, and Saros landed at 11th place in North America and 17th in Europe. It is true that the game only had a few days of sales during the month, even factoring in the 48-hour early access granted to Digital Deluxe Edition buyers. Still, those positions don’t exactly scream blockbuster debut.

For major releases like this, sales typically peak right at launch and then drop off sharply. That pattern makes it difficult to predict a significant rebound in May’s rankings.

Across the pond in the UK physical games chart, Saros managed a third-place debut. It landed behind Nintendo’s Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream and Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition. On a more positive note, the game is currently the number one new release for PS5 on Amazon, so the picture isn’t entirely bleak.

It is also worth remembering that sales expectations differ wildly from one project to the next. Sony is unlikely to hold Housemarque to the same standard as a Marvel’s Spider-Man title. With an estimated budget of around €70 million, Saros does not need to sell tens of millions of copies to turn a profit.

For now, we are left waiting for official sales numbers to get a clearer picture of how Saros is actually performing. Until then, the charts offer only a cloudy glimpse.
