Asus has unveiled a trio of new OLED gaming monitors at CES, each featuring a significant technological upgrade aimed at enhancing visual performance. The key innovation is the implementation of RGB stripe subpixel layouts, a design that both Samsung Display and LG Display are heavily promoting this year. This arrangement organizes the red, green, and blue subpixels into vertical stripes, which Asus claims delivers superior texture clarity and color rendering consistency. The company positions these displays as ideal for multi-purpose setups, whether for gaming with bold colors, everyday computing with sharp text, or professional content creation demanding precise image accuracy.

Among the new models, the 27-inch ROG Swift OLED PG27UCDM stands out for its use of Tandem OLED technology. This approach is designed to achieve remarkable brightness levels, extensive color gamut coverage, and a notably extended display lifespan. This monitor provides flexibility with a toggle between 4K resolution at 240Hz or Full HD at 480Hz. It also supports true 10-bit color depth and includes a future-ready DisplayPort 2.1a UHBR20 port offering 80Gbps of bandwidth, alongside an HDMI 2.1 port.

The lineup expands with two ultrawide models. Both the 34-inch ROG Swift OLED PG34WCDM and the ROG Strix OLED XG34WCDMS utilize quantum dot OLED panels. Asus states these new QD-OLED panels deliver 40% deeper perceived black levels compared to their predecessors. The PG34WCDM boasts a refresh rate of up to 360Hz, while the XG34WCDMS reaches 280Hz, with both offering true 10-bit color. For connectivity, they are equipped with a DisplayPort 1.4 port, an HDMI 2.1 port, and a USB-C port with power delivery capabilities. The power delivery differs between models, with the PG34WCDM supporting 90W and the XG34WCDMS providing 15W.

Asus has not announced specific release dates or pricing for these monitors, stating only that they are “on their way” to market. This launch underscores the ongoing evolution in display technology, where improvements in subpixel structure are becoming a major focus for enhancing the overall user experience across gaming and productivity tasks.
