Donkey Kong Switch 2 Controller Gets Black Friday Price Drop

A special Donkey Kong-themed wireless controller from Turtle Beach has received its first-ever discount as part of Amazon’s early Black Friday promotions. Originally priced at sixty dollars, the Turtle Beach Rematch Donkey Kong Reveal Edition is now available for just forty-nine dollars. This officially licensed controller is compatible with both the Nintendo Switch and the upcoming Switch 2, making it a timely accessory for gamers anticipating the new console and the recently released Donkey Kong Bananza game.

The controller’s standout feature is its lenticular artwork, which shifts and reveals new visual layers as you tilt the device. Decked out in a jungle-inspired color scheme of green, black, and red, it showcases Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong in a dynamic race. Red back buttons and green triggers give it a distinctive look that will certainly catch the eye in any gaming setup.

Under the hood, this controller is essentially a rebranded version of the PDP Rematch Wireless Controller, following Turtle Beach’s acquisition of PDP in 2024. It connects to your console via Bluetooth, offering up to forty hours of battery life and a stable, low-latency connection. The controller includes two remappable back buttons and supports six-axis motion controls. Its ergonomic design, along with responsive buttons and triggers, makes it a solid and more affordable alternative to Nintendo’s own Pro Controller.

However, it’s important to note what you won’t get with the Rematch. Like many officially licensed third-party options, it does not include rumble functionality or NFC support for Amiibo figures. It also lacks the new C Button found on the latest Joy-Con 2 and Pro Controller 2 models. While other third-party controllers at similar prices, such as the 8BitDo Ultimate Bluetooth, may offer more features or include a travel case, the Turtle Beach Rematch is currently the only one available with this specific Donkey Kong theme.

For Mario fans, Turtle Beach also offers the Rematch controller in several other themed editions. These include a glow-in-the-dark Invincible Mario version and a Mario Bricks Red/Blue model that also features lenticular artwork.

Amazon’s sale extends to other themed controllers as well. The PDP RealMz Wireless Controllers, known for their transparent shells and internal 3D dioramas, are also discounted. The Sonic Superstars Green Hill Zone Edition is now only thirty-five dollars, while Tails and Knuckles versions are available for forty-four and fifty dollars, respectively. An upgraded RealMz model with motion controls and a Shadow the Hedgehog theme is priced at thirty-seven dollars and seventy-five cents after applying a coupon. A Minecraft Steve Forest Biome Edition is also on sale for fifty dollars.

Meanwhile, PowerA, another major producer of licensed Nintendo gear, has introduced the first third-party wireless controller to include the C Button for GameChat on the Switch 2. The PowerA Advantage Wireless Controller comes in Super Mario and Pokemon designs and features Hall Effect joysticks, remappable back buttons, and motion controls. It’s currently five dollars off, bringing the price down to sixty-five dollars. A wired version of the Advantage controller with a retro Super Mario theme is available for as low as twenty-eight dollars and sixty-five cents.
