OKAST powers over 180 Free Ad-Supported Television (FAST) and linear channels across Europe, Latin America, and other regions, meeting the rising global appetite for premium streaming content. To support international growth and enhance service quality, the company integrated Zixi’s Software-Defined Video Platform (SDVP) and ZEN Master control plane. This strategic upgrade delivered major improvements in operational reliability, visibility, and cost-efficiency.
Cedric Monnier, CEO and Co-founder of OKAST, explained the shift: “Our previous infrastructure was hitting its limits. Zixi gives us the control, visibility, and scalability we need, it’s become a foundational component of our operations.” The enhanced technical capabilities also bolster OKAST’s role in the ASAP4EU consortium, a European Commission-funded project focused on accelerating next-generation streaming and advertising workflows.
Before adopting Zixi, OKAST encountered persistent issues with latency, blackouts, and mounting support costs as its channel count and geographic reach expanded. The new integration allows seamless delivery of high-quality live streams to diverse partners, from European broadcasters to Latin American OTT platforms, without overhauling the existing delivery architecture.
Zixi’s ZEN Master platform offers centralized, real-time monitoring and orchestration across OKAST’s entire channel lineup. Its advanced alerting and diagnostic tools have eliminated manual interventions, leading to a sharp drop in support ticket volume.
Beyond technical improvements, OKAST has realized a clear return on investment. The company’s earlier cloud-based setup grew prohibitively expensive at scale, while Zixi’s solution delivers superior performance with reduced operational expenses.
“Our old system handled a few channels well, but couldn’t support over one hundred,” Monnier noted. “Zixi offers better reliability at a lower cost, helping us grow in a sustainable way.”
This collaboration coincides with the expansion of Zixi’s global partner network through the Zixi Enabled Network Partner Program. The initiative provides partners with advanced enablement resources, co-marketing opportunities, and integrated support, all designed to help build robust, modern video delivery workflows.
Jonathan Low, VP of Channel Sales and Partnerships at Zixi, emphasized the importance of adaptable infrastructure: “With global demand for FAST and live content surging, providers like OKAST require intelligent, cost-effective solutions. We’re excited to welcome them into our partner program. This alliance shows how the Zixi platform can future-proof operations while speeding up innovation and global expansion.”
Looking ahead, OKAST intends to extend its reach into APAC and Latin America, viewing its partnership with Zixi as a crucial enabler of that growth.
“Infrastructure constraints are a thing of the past,” Monnier stated. “We can roll out new channels more quickly, cover more territories, and guarantee a superior service level for our partners. Zixi is the backbone of that growth.”
