The rapid rise of on-demand services in India has created a new breed of startups delivering everything from groceries to home services in minutes. Among them, Pronto has emerged as a standout, achieving a staggering 3.6x valuation jump in just 90 days, a testament to the explosive demand for instant solutions in urban households.
Pronto, a New Delhi-based startup offering 10-minute bookings for cleaning, laundry, and home services, recently secured an $11 million Series A round at a $45 million valuation, co-led by General Catalyst and Glade Brook Capital. This follows a $2 million seed round in May, signaling remarkable investor confidence in its hyperlocal model.
Founder and CEO Anjali Sardana attributes this rapid growth to the company’s execution speed and market traction. Since launching three months ago, Pronto has seen revenue surge fivefold, with daily bookings now in the four-digit range. While exact figures remain undisclosed, annual recurring revenue is projected between $750,000 and $1.5 million.
Investors are betting big on Sardana’s vision. Rahul Garg of General Catalyst praised her leadership, citing her ability to scale quickly and build strong partnerships with both workers and customers. The startup’s focus on densely populated areas has paid off, with 70-80% of demand initially concentrated within 500 meters of its hubs.
Pronto currently operates six hubs in Gurugram, up from two in May, each serving a 1.5-mile radius. The company strategically places hubs at intersections to maximize coverage, catering primarily to working professionals who value convenience.
The market potential is enormous. With 180–190 million nuclear households in India and a $35 billion wage pool for domestic services, the sector is ripe for disruption. Competitors like Urban Company and Snabbit are also vying for dominance, but Pronto’s rapid scaling and investor backing position it as a formidable player.
Expansion is next on the agenda. Over the next 12–18 months, Pronto plans to grow within Gurugram while entering Mumbai, Bengaluru, and other major cities. With 33 employees and 750 workers on its platform, the startup is poised to redefine how urban Indians access home services, one 10-minute booking at a time.
