Google has officially launched Gemini 3, a new family of AI models it describes as its most intelligent and factually accurate systems to date. For the first time, the company is making its flagship model, Gemini 3 Pro, immediately available to all users through the Gemini app and is also integrating it into Search for subscribers.
According to Tulsee Doshi, Google DeepMind’s senior director and head of product, this advancement brings the company closer to its core mission of making information universally accessible and useful. She emphasized a major shift away from simple text responses, stating the goal is to provide a richer, more complete perspective on user queries.
A key feature of Gemini 3 Pro is its natively multimodal architecture. This means the model can process and understand text, images, and audio simultaneously rather than as separate streams. Practical applications include translating photos of recipes into a digital cookbook or generating interactive study flashcards from a series of video lectures.
These enhanced capabilities are being integrated across Google’s product ecosystem. Within the Gemini app, users can develop more sophisticated programs in the built-in Canvas workspace. The model also enables generative interfaces, an experimental tool in Gemini Labs that can create visually rich, magazine-style layouts or dynamic user interfaces customized to a user’s specific prompt.
When used in AI Mode within Google Search, Gemini 3 Pro will present search results with integrated visual elements like images, data tables, grids, and even interactive simulations. Its search functionality has been supercharged with an upgraded “query fan-out technique.” This system not only deconstructs complex questions into simpler searchable parts but also demonstrates a superior grasp of user intent, helping to uncover content that might have been overlooked before.
Google also took a clear stance against what it perceives as a weakness in rival AI, directly contrasting Gemini 3 Pro with ChatGPT. The company claims its new model is engineered to avoid empty flattery and sycophantic responses. Gemini 3 Pro is accessible to everyone starting today within the Gemini app. In the United States, Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers can also experiment with the Gemini Agent feature and access Gemini 3 Pro in AI Mode by selecting the “Thinking” option from the model dropdown menu.
