SAP is fundamentally reshaping the developer experience by embedding artificial intelligence directly into the core of enterprise application creation. The company’s latest innovations, showcased at SAP TechEd 2025, provide developers with sophisticated tools to transform business data and AI capabilities into tangible business outcomes. Through significant enhancements to the SAP Build solution, an expanded data ecosystem, and advanced Joule Agents, developers can now accelerate their journey from concept to implementation with remarkable efficiency. Recognizing AI’s transformative impact across professions, SAP has also committed to preparing 12 million people globally with AI-ready skills by 2030.
Muhammad Alam, Executive Board member of SAP SE, emphasized that “SAP’s announcements today give developers the tools they need to deliver at the speed of AI. Innovations across SAP’s unique flywheel of applications, data and AI put developers in the driver’s seat—where they belong.”
The developer ecosystem is expanding dramatically with SAP Build, the company’s premier solution for enterprise application development and automation. Developers now enjoy greater flexibility to build, extend, and automate using their preferred development tools. Those who favor agentic development solutions such as Cursor, Claude Code, Cline, and Windsurf can now leverage SAP development frameworks through new SAP Build local Model Context Protocol Servers. Visual Studio Code users will soon access SAP Build capabilities directly within their development environment via a new extension, which will later become available on Open VSX Registry for other development platforms. Additionally, SAP and n8n revealed integration plans that will enable Joule Studio agents and n8n agents to collaborate effectively.
Joule Studio’s new agent building capabilities provide developers with the necessary tools to extend SAP’s pre-built agents and create new ones grounded in SAP business data and context. These agents can operate autonomously, responding intelligently to evolving business conditions.
Trusted data forms the foundation of every intelligent application, and SAP is providing developers with enhanced methods to leverage this data through SAP Business Data Cloud. The solution now integrates with more of the data and AI platforms developers regularly use. A new SAP Snowflake solution extension brings Snowflake’s fully managed data and AI capabilities directly to SAP customers, offering them the flexibility to select appropriate compute and storage options for each data and AI workload while maintaining governance, interoperability, and business context. This new SAP Business Data Cloud Connect partnership with Snowflake complements existing integrations with Databricks and Google Cloud, giving developers increased freedom in how they work with SAP data.
A new data product studio capability within SAP Business Data Cloud enables developers to convert raw data into ready-to-use assets known as data products that support analytics, AI, and application development. The enhanced SAP HANA Cloud knowledge graph engine can automatically generate knowledge graphs that map relationships across SAP database tables, columns, and data models. This functionality reveals how data interconnects and why these relationships matter, allowing developers to visualize data connections across systems and uncover valuable business insights.
SAP’s evolving AI portfolio delivers the intelligence and orchestration power developers need to transition AI from insight to actionable outcomes. The company introduced its first enterprise relational foundation model, representing a new category of AI that predicts business outcomes rather than simply forecasting the next word in a sequence. SAP-RPT-1, the first-generation Relational Pre-trained Transformer, delivers fast and accurate predictions for common business scenarios including delivery delays, payment risks, and sales order completion. SAP has launched a complimentary playground environment where developers can experiment with this technology.
New AI assistants in Joule coordinate multiple agents across workflows, departments, and applications, bringing sophisticated automation and autonomy to life. These assistants plan, initiate, and complete complex tasks spanning finance, supply chain, human resources, and beyond. SAP has introduced new agents specifically designed for technical users, including an agent for business process analysis that helps teams understand process execution, identify inefficiencies, and discover opportunities to optimize workflows while driving measurable improvements.
As artificial intelligence continues to redefine professional work across all sectors, SAP’s commitment to skill development represents a significant investment in the future workforce. The company will expand hands-on training and certification programs that integrate practical AI-ready tools, including through its partnership with online learning platform Coursera.
