Pinterest is rolling out a suite of new AI-driven features designed to transform user boards into highly personalized discovery and shopping tools. These upgrades, currently in testing across the United States and Canada, aim to move boards beyond simple organizational functions into dynamic spaces for style exploration and outfit creation.
One of the key additions is the “Styled for you” collage feature, which uses artificial intelligence to help users assemble complete outfits from their saved fashion Pins. By tapping on any item within the collage, individuals can swipe through alternative AI-recommended pieces from their own collections, making it simple to visualize and mix-and-match different clothing and accessory combinations.
Another experimental tool, “Boards made for you,” offers fully personalized boards curated through a blend of editorial insight and AI-powered suggestions. These boards will showcase trending styles, provide weekly outfit inspiration, and include shoppable content, appearing directly in users’ home feeds and inboxes for easy access.
The broader objective behind these innovations is to position Pinterest as an AI-enabled shopping assistant, a strategic direction highlighted by the company’s CEO during recent earnings discussions. This builds on existing AI integrations like visual search and smart recommendations already active on the platform.
Interestingly, while Pinterest leans into AI for personalization, it is simultaneously taking steps to manage AI-generated content. Back in April, the platform announced plans to label images created or significantly altered by artificial intelligence. It also introduced user controls that allow people to reduce the number of AI-generated Pins appearing in their feeds.
Alongside the AI experiments, Pinterest is introducing new organizational tabs for boards. When viewing boards from a profile, users will find a “Make It Yours” tab recommending fashion and home decor items aligned with their saved Pins. A “More Ideas” tab will suggest related content across categories such as beauty, recipes, and art. Finally, an “All Saves” tab provides a straightforward way to locate every Pin a user has previously saved.
These new tabs and AI features are scheduled for a global rollout over the next several months, marking a significant step in Pinterest’s ongoing evolution as a personalized digital discovery hub.
