Dubai’s Museum of the Future, in partnership with Dubai Municipality, will host Urban Future Week on November 10–11, 2025, bringing together global leaders and innovators to explore the next generation of urban development. This high-profile event will focus on creating resilient, sustainable, and inclusive cities through advanced technology and forward-thinking governance.

Urban Future Week will examine how cities can adapt to rapid technological progress, climate pressures, and evolving social needs. The gathering aims to produce actionable strategies for designing urban environments that are both adaptable and people-focused. More than 40 speakers and over 1,000 participants from international organizations will take part in keynote addresses, panel discussions, interactive sessions, and specialized exhibitions. These activities will showcase cutting-edge projects in sustainability, governance, and urban innovation, reinforcing Dubai’s role as a global hub for future foresight.

His Excellency Eng. Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita, Director General of Dubai Municipality, emphasized that the event supports ongoing efforts to position Dubai at the forefront of urban innovation. “Organizing Urban Future Week aligns with our goal to enhance Dubai’s status as a leader in governance and urban innovation. In a world of fast-paced transformation, we must rethink how cities are designed, managed, and made more adaptable,” he stated.

Key themes to be explored include future readiness, urban resilience, digital infrastructure, and the evolution of communities. Discussions will center on improving quality of life, advancing sustainability, and creating smarter, more inclusive urban spaces. A major highlight will be the ‘Hewi Dubai’ initiative, a community-centered model for developing inclusive urban areas. This project integrates spaces that strengthen social ties, preserve cultural heritage, and incorporate sustainable agriculture, reflecting a vision for vibrant, ecologically connected neighborhoods.

Bin Ghalita added, “Through this initiative, Dubai Municipality demonstrates its commitment to flexible governance and community empowerment. Our approach supports the UAE Green Agenda 2030, sustainable development goals, and the UAE Centennial 2071 Vision, helping turn future challenges into opportunities for sustainable growth.”

Urban Future Week will also investigate the application of open data, artificial intelligence, and experimental governance to boost urban sustainability. It aims to illustrate Dubai’s strategy for future city design through collaborative, data-informed planning. By connecting urban growth with climate resilience, the event encourages stronger ties among academic institutions, communities, and government bodies. It seeks to speed up the implementation of digital infrastructure and smart systems while supporting youth-led contributions to urban planning.

His Excellency Khalfan Belhoul, CEO of the Dubai Future Foundation, noted, “Holding this global dialogue at the Museum of the Future underscores Dubai’s pioneering efforts in building resilient, forward-looking cities. The event enables knowledge sharing and the creation of practical solutions that leverage emerging technologies and meet the expectations of future generations.”

Anticipated outcomes from Urban Future Week include the introduction of new strategic initiatives in smart infrastructure, enhanced public-private collaboration, and the creation of innovative frameworks for healthier, more resilient cities. A comprehensive report will be issued, summarizing critical insights and policy recommendations to guide future urban development and cement Dubai’s reputation as an international platform for shaping tomorrow’s cities.

Belhoul concluded, “Urban Future Week offers a vital platform to envision digital cities and smart communities where technology, open data, and AI become essential tools for building efficient, sustainable living models.”
