Africa Tech Festival 2025: Leaders from Gov, Biz & Sport to Drive Digital Future

Scheduled for November 11–13, 2025, at the Cape Town International Convention Centre, the Africa Tech Festival 2025 is set to gather influential voices from government, business, and sports to advance the continent’s digital transformation. This 28th edition of the premier technology event will feature an expanded speaker lineup, reinforcing its role as the leading platform for shaping Africa’s digital future.

South Africa’s Minister of Communications and Digital Technologies, Hon. Solly Malatsi, will deliver the ministerial welcome and opening address. His presence highlights the host country’s dedication to inclusive connectivity, digital literacy, and supportive policy frameworks that can accelerate the growth of the digital economy.

Joining him is Tendai “The Beast” Mtawarira, the celebrated former Springbok rugby player and founder of The Beast Foundation. Through his foundation, Mtawarira works to empower young Africans, helping them realize their potential in sports and beyond. From the enterprise technology sector, Adil El Youssefi, Chief Executive Officer of Africa Data Centres, will outline his vision for expanding Africa’s AI capabilities using sustainable, secure, and scalable data infrastructure.

Other notable speakers include Mlindi Mashologu, Deputy Director-General for Digital Society and Economy at South Africa’s Department of Communications and Digital Technologies, who will contribute to discussions on practical approaches to African AI governance. Obed Frimpong, Chief Information Security Officer at First National Bank Ghana Ltd, will share insights on how cloud computing is fueling digital innovation across African enterprises. Charles Murito, Regional Director for Government Affairs & Policy in Sub-Saharan Africa at Google, will offer strategic perspectives on preparing the workforce for the demands of a digital future.

Together, these leaders represent the diverse forces, from policymakers and corporate innovators to athletes and social changemakers, driving Africa’s technological evolution.

Registration for Africa Tech Festival 2025 is now open, offering access to more than 500 speakers, 300 exhibitors, and extensive networking opportunities.
