From October 13th to 17th, 2025, the Dubai World Trade Centre will host GITEX GLOBAL 2025, the world’s largest technology and artificial intelligence exhibition. This landmark 45th edition assembles more than 6,800 technology enterprises and 2,000 startups from 180 nations, focusing on the most ambitious global AI infrastructure expansion. With the AI market projected to hit $4.8 trillion by 2033, the event spotlights critical sectors like biotech, physical AI, quantum computing, semiconductors, and data centers, showcasing how AI is tackling humanity’s most complex challenges.

Alongside the main event, Expand North Star celebrates its 10th anniversary from October 12th to 15th at Dubai Harbour. Hosted by the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, it connects 2,000 promising startups, including a high proportion of growth and late-stage companies, with over 1,200 investors managing a combined $1.1 trillion in assets.

Trixie LohMirmand, Executive Vice President of Dubai World Trade Centre, emphasized that future-critical sectors such as data centers, biotech, quantum, and robotics are where AI innovation meets urgent global needs. She noted that GITEX GLOBAL 2025 provides fresh momentum for these transformative technologies, reinforcing its role as a catalyst for innovation across industries and economies worldwide.

This year marks a record for international involvement, with Brazil participating as Country Partner alongside its largest-ever tech delegation. The Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Tech Destination Pakistan also join as key partners. New national pavilions from Canada, Chile, Ecuador, Spain, and Türkiye will debut, accompanied by expanded representation from Europe, Central Asia, Latin America, Africa, and the Levant.

Tatiana Riera, COO of ApexBrasil, expressed enthusiasm for bringing over 50 Brazilian startups and innovation hubs to GITEX, highlighting the opportunity to demonstrate Brazil’s role in creating tech solutions for worldwide issues. Marko Čadež, President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, added that Serbian startups at the event showcase practical AI applications across diverse fields, from wellness and energy to social media sentiment diagnostics, illustrating the breadth of Serbian technological expertise.

With global data center investments expected to surpass $500 billion in 2025, GITEX welcomes major industry players like O’Leary Ventures, which is developing the world’s largest AI data center industrial park in Canada. Paul Palandjian, CEO and Co-General Partner of O’Leary Ventures, praised the UAE’s leadership, vision, and resources in attracting world-class talent across every sector. Regionally, Hassan Alnaqbi, CEO of Khazna, the MENA region’s largest hyperscale data center provider, will lead discussions on whether infrastructure, energy, and policy can scale rapidly enough to support giga AI factories.

Biotech spending is projected to reach $1.7 trillion in 2025, driven by breakthroughs in gene editing, mRNA vaccines, and AI-driven drug discovery. At GITEX, Trevor Martin, CEO of Mammoth Biosciences, will explain how their Nobel Prize-winning CRISPR gene-editing technology uses AI to potentially cure genetic diseases. Matt Angle, CEO of Paradromics, discusses decoding human thought through AI and neurotechnology, while South Korean startup HurayPositive introduces an AI-powered SaaS platform for precision medicine targeting one million chronic disease patients.

The event also highlights physical AI innovations, with Tensor unveiling the world’s first personal robocar, described as “agentic AI on wheels”, and K2 introducing new humanoids and a concept vehicle for industrial robotics. As the robotics AI market is forecast to quadruple to $94 billion by 2031, these developments underscore how physical AI is becoming essential for industrial productivity and competitive advantage.

At the GITEX Quantum Expo, IBM unveils Quantum System Two, a significant advancement toward large-scale fault-tolerant quantum systems. Shukri Eid, IBM’s Vice President and General Manager for the Gulf, Levant, and Pakistan, described GITEX as a platform for action, uniting policymakers, business leaders, and innovators to drive AI progress. Prof. Mark Thompson, Co-Founder of PsiQuantum, outlines the journey toward quantum sovereignty, while IONQ, the first publicly traded pure-play quantum computing company, also exhibits.

In the semiconductor arena, AMD presents its high-performance Instinct™ GPUs and EPYC™ CPUs, engineered for demanding AI workloads and energy-efficient data centers. Jim Keller, CEO of Tenstorrent, a $2.6 billion AI chipmaker featured on the Forbes AI50 List, delivers a talk titled “Taking Control of Your Sovereign AI Future,” exploring how semiconductors are emerging as a geopolitical lever.

Expand North Star features more than 40 unicorns this year, cementing the UAE’s status as a global scale-up hub. Among them, Cerebras showcases the world’s largest AI supercomputer, developed in partnership with G42.
