The Gemini app has introduced a new video template feature, making it easier than ever to create polished clips without needing complex prompts. This update builds on last week’s music generation tools, shifting the focus to streamlined video creation. By offering a selection of pre-designed styles, Google aims to simplify the process for users who want to produce engaging content quickly.

To access the feature, users simply open the Tools menu and select “Create video.” This action reveals a grid of Gallery styles with previews, allowing for immediate visual selection. The current template lineup includes a diverse range of options such as Civilization, Metallic, Memo, Glam, Crochet, Cyberpunk, Video Game, Cosmos, Action Hero, Stardust, Jellytoon, Racetrack, ASMR Apple, Red Carpet, and Popcorn. Once a style is chosen, it automatically populates the prompt box, where further customization is possible.

The system encourages users to “Customize with a photo or description.” A key part of this is the Ingredients to Video feature, which lets you upload a personal photo to become the central character in the generated clip. This functionality, updated last month alongside support for native 9:16 aspect ratios, is designed for personalization. For instance, a prompt like “Turn this photo of me into a video” can quickly transform a static image into a dynamic scene using the selected template aesthetic.

This rollout is happening now on both the gemini.google.com website and the mobile applications, with the feature already live for many users. The update is part of a broader ecosystem of AI tools with tiered access. For video, the powerful Veo 3.1 video generation model is available through Google’s AI subscription plans: AI Plus members get two videos daily, Pro subscribers receive three, and Ultra users can create up to five.

Parallel to the video enhancements, the Lyria 3 music generation service also has defined usage limits. Free users can create 10 tracks per day, while paid tiers offer increased capacity: AI Plus provides 20 tracks, AI Pro allows for 50, and AI Ultra supports up to 100 tracks daily. This structured approach gives users clear expectations based on their subscription level, whether they are focusing on video projects, musical compositions, or both.
