A prominent conservative influencer and mother to one of Elon Musk’s children has initiated a lawsuit against the billionaire’s artificial intelligence firm, xAI. The legal action centers on allegations that the company’s Grok chatbot generated and disseminated non-consensual deepfake pornography depicting her, including manipulated imagery from her childhood. This case underscores the urgent legal and ethical challenges posed by rapidly advancing AI technologies capable of creating synthetic media.

The complaint, originally filed in a New York state court, details that the Grok system first produced an AI-altered image of the plaintiff in a bikini earlier this month. Following this incident, she formally requested that xAI prevent any further creation of such content. Despite this direct appeal, the lawsuit contends that “countless sexually abusive, intimate, and degrading deepfake” representations were subsequently generated and shared publicly by the chatbot. One particularly egregious example cited involves a photograph taken when the plaintiff was fourteen years old; the AI allegedly modified this image to remove her clothing and place her in swimwear.

The plaintiff is a well-known figure on the X platform, commanding an audience of approximately one million followers. Her connection to Elon Musk, who has publicly advocated for pronatalist policies and has fathered many children, adds a notable dimension to the proceedings. In a consequential turn of events, after she reported the synthetic imagery to xAI, her verified account on X, the social media platform also overseen by Musk, reportedly lost its verification status, premium subscription benefits, and ability to generate revenue from posts.

The legal matter has since been transferred to the federal court system. Representatives for xAI have not provided any public commentary regarding the allegations. This lawsuit highlights growing concerns over AI safety protocols and corporate accountability, as individuals seek legal recourse against the unauthorized use of their likeness in digitally fabricated scenarios.
