A new initiative from the City of Moreton Bay is set to deliver substantial benefits for local small businesses by offering complimentary access to essential digital tools. The Business Boost Tech Essentials Program, developed in collaboration with Constant Contact and Xero, will provide up to one thousand qualifying businesses with six months of free marketing and financial management software, alongside dedicated training resources aimed at fostering growth and improving operational efficiency.

Mayor Peter Flannery emphasized that enhancing efficiency is crucial for small business success. He explained that the program is specifically designed to help local enterprises expand their operations, simplify daily processes, and strengthen cash flow. Just one additional weekly sale from existing customers could collectively save the local business community an estimated $5.1 million in lead generation expenses. Overall, this effort has the potential to generate up to $14 million in advantages for participating companies.

This program reinforces the Council’s pledge as a Queensland Small Business Friendly Council to alleviate pressures on business proprietors and enhance their capabilities. Queensland Small Business Commissioner Dominique Lamb praised the initiative, noting that when a business has a clear understanding of its financial standing, it becomes 80 percent less likely to face insolvency. She commended the City of Moreton Bay for its ongoing dedication to the small business sector and for implementing practical measures that help local firms thrive rather than merely survive.

Renee Chaplin, Vice President for Constant Contact in the Asia Pacific region, pointed out that time-strapped small businesses frequently find it difficult to manage marketing efforts while simultaneously handling tax obligations and cash flow. She stressed that using technology to stimulate growth and build customer loyalty is not only effective but also a smart business strategy. Through this partnership, small and medium enterprises will receive half a year of free access to marketing and finance tools that support scalable and sustainable development.

Anne Nalder, Founder and CEO of the Small Business Association of Australia, remarked that the program arrives at a pivotal moment. To endure in a constantly changing economic environment, small businesses must concentrate on boosting sales, reducing costs, and improving profitability. This initiative offers valuable, no-cost entry to the necessary finance and marketing resources required to achieve those objectives.

The Business Boost Tech Essentials Program is available to businesses operating within the City of Moreton Bay that hold an Australian Business Number and are new customers to both Constant Contact and Xero. Eligible participants will receive six months of free access to any Xero business plan, a Constant Contact Lite plan, complimentary onboarding assistance, and local customer support. The offer is open to the first one thousand local businesses that submit an application.
