Apple has quietly raised the cost of AppleCare+ for new Mac and iPad purchases, marking the latest adjustment to its extended warranty and device protection program. As first reported by Bloomberg, the monthly rate has increased by 50 cents and the annual plan by $5 for these product lines.

AppleCare+ serves as the company’s official extended warranty, covering additional hardware repairs, technical support, and accidental damage beyond the standard one-year limited warranty. The new pricing structure applies only to new enrollments; existing customers will continue paying their previous rates, at least for now.

The updated monthly and annual fees now look like this:

  • New Mac plans: Previously $9.99 per month or $99 per year, now $10.49 per month or $104 per year.Notably, AppleCare One, the company’s multi-device subscription plan launched last year, remains unaffected by these changes. That service bundles coverage for an iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch into a single monthly fee.For current subscribers, the price hike does not apply. Only those purchasing a new Mac or iPad and signing up for AppleCare+ after today will see the higher rates. Apple has not indicated whether it plans to extend similar increases to other devices like the iPhone or Apple Watch. To compare coverage options or check eligibility for your existing devices, visit Apple’s official AppleCare+ page. For third-party accessories like cases and chargers, Amazon remains a popular alternative for discounted pricing.
