– Tata Electronics confirmed a cyberattack that impacted parts of its IT infrastructure, but operations continued normally without disruption.
– The company is a division of the Tata Group, focused on electronics and semiconductor manufacturing, including producing and assembling Apple iPhones.
– The World Leaks threat group claimed responsibility, leaking data allegedly containing Apple product manufacturing details like schematics and PCB designs.
– World Leaks is a rebrand of the Hunters International ransomware group, now operating purely as a data extortion group without using encryptors.
– Other high-profile victims of World Leaks include Dell, which confirmed a breach in July 2025, and Nike, which investigated a claimed theft of 1.4 TB of files in January 2026.

Tata Electronics has officially acknowledged a cyberattack that targeted portions of its IT infrastructure, confirming the incident in a statement provided to BleepingComputer. The company stressed that its manufacturing operations remained fully functional and were not disrupted by the breach.

“A few weeks ago, Tata Electronics identified a cybersecurity incident on some of our systems,” a company spokesperson told BleepingComputer. “Our response protocols were deployed immediately, and the incident has had no impact on our operations across businesses, which remain unaffected.”

Tata Electronics, a subsidiary of the Indian multinational conglomerate Tata Group, specializes in electronic components and semiconductor manufacturing. Since its establishment in 2020, it has rapidly ascended to become one of India’s largest technology manufacturing firms, currently producing and assembling Apple iPhones and iPhone components.

Although Tata Electronics has not identified the threat actor responsible, the statement follows a claim from the World Leaks threat group, which published data allegedly stolen from the company. The leaked material includes multiple directories and documents purportedly containing manufacturing data for Apple products, such as internal component schematics, PCB designs, material specifications, and SDK files.

BleepingComputer has reached out to Apple for comment on whether any proprietary data has been exposed, but has not yet received a response.

World Leaks is widely regarded as a rebrand of the Hunters International ransomware group, which ceased operations in July 2025. Unlike its predecessor, which deployed data encryptors during attacks, World Leaks operates exclusively as a data extortion group, stealing files and threatening to release them publicly unless demands are met.

Other notable victims of the same group include computer manufacturer Dell, which confirmed a breach in July 2025, and sportswear giant Nike, which launched an investigation after a claimed theft of 1.4 TB of files in January 2026.
