However, this incremental update doesn’t fix the original’s most persistent shortcomings. There’s still no dedicated power button, so you must rely on the carrying case to put them to sleep. And much of the unique functionality disappears when paired with non-iOS devices. The full $549 price tag has always been a tough sell, but this discount brings them squarely into competition with our favorite noise-cancelling headset, the Sony WH-1000XM6.
