Spotify is taking its AI DJ feature global, rolling out support for four new languages and expanding into several European and Brazilian markets. Premium users in these regions can now experience a personalized, interactive radio host that curates playlists and comments on tracks based on individual listening habits and preferences.

The expansion adds French, German, Italian, and Brazilian Portuguese to the feature’s language roster, which previously only included English and Spanish. Each new voice has been carefully crafted to feel native to its market. Spotify auditioned over 100 candidates to select voices that sound authentic, and local teams collaborated on shaping each DJ’s personality to ensure the tone, warmth, and cultural nuance resonate with native speakers. The French DJ is named Maïa, the German DJ is Ben, the Italian DJ is Alex, and the Brazilian Portuguese DJ is Dani.

Users can access the DJ by navigating to their Home page or searching for “DJ” and tapping to start a personalized session. The DJ can run on its own, or users can tap the blue circle in the bottom-right corner to request specific songs or vibes using text or voice commands. To switch between languages, simply tap the three-dot menu within the DJ page and select a preferred language.

Originally launched in 2023 for the US and Canada, the AI DJ later expanded to the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and select markets across Europe, Asia, and Africa. With this latest rollout, the feature is now available in more than 75 markets worldwide, including Austria, Brazil, Germany, Italy, Portugal, South Korea, and Switzerland.

This expansion is part of a broader wave of new features from Spotify. The company recently introduced a Verified by Spotify” artist badge to help listeners distinguish between human artists and AI-generated music. Spotify has also announced partnerships with Bookshop.org to sell physical books in the US and UK, and with Peloton to give Premium subscribers access to over 1,400 ad-free fitness classes and guided workouts.
