Lenovo has unveiled a significant refresh of its business laptop lineup, headlined by the long-awaited return of a detachable ThinkPad. The company announced five new ThinkPad models and a new ThinkBook ahead of MWC 2026, with the ThinkPad X13 Detachable standing out as the most intriguing update after years without a major revision to its tablet-style line.

This new detachable model moves beyond its predecessor with several key upgrades. It features a larger 13-inch touchscreen with a 3:2 aspect ratio, a sharp 2880 x 1920 resolution, and a smooth 120Hz variable refresh rate. Power comes from the latest Intel Panther Lake processors. Perhaps the most notable improvement is the redesigned keyboard cover, which now boasts full-size, contoured keycaps and a satisfying 1.5mm key travel that mimics the feel of a traditional ThinkPad keyboard. The stylus also gets a welcome upgrade, now stored and charging inside the keyboard via pogo pins instead of relying on a AAAA battery and an external loop.

The broader ThinkPad T-series also receives substantial updates. The new ThinkPad T14 and T16 models feature reduced screen bezels and can be configured with either Intel Panther Lake or AMD Gorgon Point processors. A significant shift for the Intel versions is the adoption of LPCAMM2 RAM, which promises better power efficiency while maintaining the ability for users to upgrade or repair the memory. Both models also include user-replaceable batteries, enhancing their longevity and repairability.

For users prioritizing portability, the new ThinkPad T14S claims the title of the lightest T-series ThinkPad ever at just 2.43 pounds. It also offers the widest range of processor options, including Intel Panther Lake, AMD Gorgon Point, and Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 series chips. A slightly heavier 2-in-1 convertible version of the T14S is also available, though it is limited to Intel silicon. The new ThinkBook 14 2-in-1 Gen 6 rounds out the announcements with similar convertible flexibility.

All new laptops will ship with Windows 11, though the ThinkPad T14, T14S, T16, and X13 Detachable will also be available with Linux pre-installed in select markets. The Qualcomm-based T14S model is an exception, running Windows on Arm. Most of these devices are scheduled for release in the second quarter of 2026, with the standout ThinkPad X13 Detachable following in the third quarter.
