The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy is officially structured as a two-part experience, with publisher Aniplex and developers Too Kyo Games and Media.Vision confirming a “1&2” pack release. This formal acknowledgment clarifies the game’s unique narrative design, where the initial title covers the first 100 days of a student’s life, and the sequel, The Hundred Line 2, continues the story for the next 100 days. This dual-game framework has been integral since the title’s 2025 launch but is now being explicitly promoted as a combined package.
To mark this announcement, Too Kyo Games revealed a special new illustration by artist Rui Komatsuzaki. In Japan, a commemorative physical edition for the Nintendo Switch will be offered, featuring a slipcase adorned with this new artwork. This special version will be available exclusively through the Aniplex Online Store and Amazon Japan, with a release date set for April 24 to coincide with the game’s first anniversary.
An upcoming game update will introduce significant quality-of-life improvements. Players will gain the ability to start The Hundred Line 2 directly, without needing clear data from the first game. This update also unlocks a “Chapter Select” feature, providing the freedom to jump to the beginning of any specific date or to key decision points before and after branching story paths. This is particularly valuable given the game’s expansive narrative, which boasts 100 possible endings for dedicated players to discover.
On the audio front, Aniplex will release The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy Original Soundtrack on streaming platforms starting January 17, featuring 112 tracks. For collectors, a physical “Director’s Edition” curated by composer Masafumi Takada will follow on April 24 in Japan. This special release includes 88 selected tracks, incorporating songs not found in the digital version.
Too Kyo Games has scheduled a new announcement for January 16. The teaser hints at an event planned for 100 days in the future. (Update 01/16/26: The developer has since revealed “The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy 1st Anniversary Class Festival,” a live event celebrating the game’s one-year milestone, to be held at Tokyo’s Nikkei Hall on April 26. Tickets are currently on sale.)
The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy is available now on Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam. A new trailer titled “The Next 100 Days” has been released to highlight the upcoming sequel and updates.
