Anthropic, Microsoft, and NVIDIA Partner to Advance Frontier AI

Anthropic, Microsoft, and NVIDIA have announced a strategic collaboration that brings together cutting-edge AI models, cloud infrastructure, and next-generation hardware to accelerate the development and deployment of safe, high-performance artificial intelligence.
This partnership spans three key areas:
Claude Expands to Microsoft Azure
Anthropic will scale its Claude family of frontier models, including Claude 2.1 and future iterations, on Microsoft Azure. This move brings Claude to a broader enterprise audience and makes it available across all three major cloud platforms: AWS, Google Cloud, and now Azure. The collaboration includes a commitment from Anthropic to purchase up to $30 billion in Azure compute capacity, with an initial contract for up to one gigawatt of power.
Co-Designing the Future with NVIDIA
Anthropic will adopt NVIDIA’s latest AI computing platforms, including the Grace Blackwell and Rubin architectures, to train and serve its models. The two companies will work together to co-design future systems that optimize performance, efficiency, and scalability for large-scale AI workloads.
Long-Term Investment in Responsible AI
To support Anthropic’s long-term research and development, Microsoft and NVIDIA are making significant investments in the company, up to $10 billion and $5 billion respectively. These investments reflect a shared commitment to advancing safe, steerable AI systems that can be deployed responsibly across industries.
This collaboration reflects a broader industry shift toward integrated AI development, where model creators, cloud providers, and hardware innovators align to meet the demands of increasingly sophisticated systems. All three companies remain committed to openness, safety, and accessibility as AI continues to evolve.
