Google is accelerating the global reach of its Gemini for Home upgrades, with a wider rollout now underway across Europe and Asia-Pacific this week.
Anish Kattukaran, the head of Google Home, confirmed via Twitter/X over the weekend that early access to the Gemini-powered home experience is being “scaled up” in recently added regions. According to Kattukaran, “significant” expansions have already taken place over the past two weeks, and the momentum will continue into the coming days.
The pace of the rollout appears to be increasing. Kattukaran noted that Google is “clearing” the early access queue “every day.” For users in supported regions, opting into early access through the Home app effectively “bumps you to the top of the list.”
Google first opened this expansion last year, but in April it formally announced plans to bring Gemini for Home features to new countries, including Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Australia, Japan, and New Zealand. That announcement also came with a significant language expansion.
Over the past several months, Google has steadily refined Gemini for Home, with the most recent batch of updates delivering noticeable speed improvements and other enhancements.
