The company’s latest feature, Threat Protection Pro, is now available for Windows and macOS, offering always-on digital security that operates independently of the VPN connection. This new tool is engineered to stop malware and other online threats before they can infect a device, representing a major step in IPVanish’s transition from a VPN provider to a full-spectrum security platform.

Powered by advanced technology from VIPRE, Threat Protection Pro provides real-time protection against a wide array of digital dangers. It actively blocks malicious websites, dangerous downloads, intrusive ads, and trackers. This functionality remains active at all times, ensuring continuous defense whether the VPN is connected or not. This launch is part of a broader strategy to consolidate multiple security tools into one streamlined subscription, simplifying protection for the average consumer.

The system also blocks ads, trackers, and malicious websites to create a cleaner, safer browsing environment. On Windows, it adds network threat monitoring that detects and blocks suspicious activity across all incoming network traffic, not just web-based data. Crucially, this always-on protection works continuously without requiring the VPN to be active.

This approach goes beyond basic domain filtering by analyzing content at a granular page and file level.
