– Gurr the Outcast has been made slightly harder by decreasing the time he stands still during his trap-throw attack.

– The patch is currently available only for PC, with a console release planned for the near future.

The latest update for Hollow Knight: Silksong introduces significant balance changes, most notably making the notorious Muckmaggot enemies less punishing to face. These creatures, found in areas like Bilewater and the Putrified Ducts, previously consumed Hornet’s silk without consequence, forcing players to carefully manage their resources just to restrain them. With the new patch, the Wreath of Purity has been enhanced, allowing Hornet a better opportunity to heal herself by applying a second bind, which makes clearing out Muckmaggots far more manageable.

Another major improvement in this update is the overhaul of the game’s Chinese localization. Team Cherry has officially replaced the earlier translation with a fan-made version developed by Team Cart Fit. The studio praised this new translation for its deep understanding of the intricate narrative and lore present in both Hollow Knight titles. This change comes after the original translation received substantial criticism from native Chinese speakers, which had previously led to the game being targeted with negative reviews.

Beyond these headline adjustments, the patch includes a variety of other beneficial fixes and tweaks. For instance, couriers will no longer repeatedly offer the same delivery quest back-to-back. Controller support has also been broadened, with rumble functionality now enabled for a wider array of devices. On the flip side, the update makes one boss encounter slightly more difficult: Gurr the Outcast now spends less time standing still, requiring players to adapt more quickly during the fight.

This newest patch is currently exclusive to the PC version of Silksong, though console players can expect to receive the same updates in the coming weeks. Below is the complete list of changes included in Patch 4 (version 1.0.29242).
