Following the Phone 3’s shift away from its signature feature, the new Nothing Phone 3A Lite reintroduces Glyph Lights in their most minimal form yet: a single, small LED. This budget-friendly device is now available in the UK and Europe, though a US release is not currently planned.
Positioned in the bottom-right corner, the solitary circular LED draws inspiration from classic notification lights. Despite its simplicity, it retains core functionality from more elaborate Glyph systems. Users can place the phone face-down to receive silent, light-based alerts, assign unique light patterns to specific contacts, and utilize the LED as a visual timer for the camera.
The phone’s overall aesthetic stays true to Nothing’s design language, offered in black or white with a semi-transparent back panel and a distinctive red accent. The camera array maintains an asymmetric layout, a design choice that may not win over every critic of the Phone 3, though many will likely find this iteration more visually appealing. A prominent section on the rear might suggest an accessible battery compartment, but the company clarifies this is purely a stylistic element. A Nothing representative confirmed the feature is a “simulated battery design” and does not open.
Under the hood, the device is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Pro 5G processor, paired with 8GB of RAM. Buyers can choose between 128GB or 256GB of internal storage, with a microSD card slot available for expansion up to 2TB. A sizable 5,000mAh battery provides solid endurance, though 33W wired charging is relatively modest by today’s standards. The display is a generous 6.77-inch 120Hz OLED, and the phone carries an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance.
Photography appears to be a potential strength, thanks to the primary 50-megapixel camera which uses a notably large 1/1.57-inch sensor with an f/1.8 aperture. The other rear cameras are less impressive, consisting of an 8-megapixel ultrawide and a macro lens. A 16-megapixel front-facing camera handles selfies and video calls.
The Nothing Phone 3A Lite is on sale now in its launch markets. The 128GB model is priced at £249 or €249, while the 256GB variant costs £279 or €279. It ships with Nothing OS 3.5, based on Android 15, and the company commits to providing three years of major Android updates and six years of security patches.
