Google Pixel’s Camera Gets a Major Redesign in New Update

A fresh update is now reaching older Google Pixel devices, giving the Pixel Camera app a visual makeover that aligns with the Material 3 Expressive design language. This isn’t a complete overhaul, but it does introduce a sleeker appearance that matches other recently updated apps and system components on your phone.
The update, identified as version 10.1, introduces subtle changes that may not be immediately noticeable. Previously, the app featured more prominent colors, but the redesign removes the solid outer ring from the shutter button. Zoom controls appear slightly larger, and the selfie camera toggle now has a distinctive rounded square shape. Within the settings menu, touch buttons have adopted a more circular form, and active toggles are clearly marked with checkmarks. The layout of the settings area itself has been reorganized, with options now grouped into more distinct categories for easier navigation.
The image below showcases the new design captured from a Pixel 10 Pro XL, which has featured this interface for a while. However, many older Pixel models have not yet received the update, as Google continues its methodical, phased release approach that can sometimes test users’ patience.
