Season 6 of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone has arrived, bringing a massive Halloween-themed update packed with new maps, terrifying limited-time modes, and significant weapon adjustments. The seasonal event, known as The Haunting, introduces a fresh Battle Pass, spine-chilling rewards, and a host of gameplay refinements designed to enhance the player experience across both titles. This update also strengthens the RICOCHET Anti-Cheat system with new security measures.

A trio of new multiplayer maps joins the rotation. Gravity is a 6v6 map set in an underground testing facility featuring a unique low-gravity room that alters combat dynamics. Rig offers close-quarters chaos at a demolished truck stop, while Mothball provides a compact 6v6 and 2v2 environment inspired by the campaign’s cognitive research facility. The classic Nuketown receives a Halloween makeover as Boo-Town, complete with crawling spiders, lurking skeletons, and a haunted soundscape.

The new Slasher Deathmatch mode pits survivors against iconic horror villains. Each round, two players transform into slashers like Jason or Chucky, hunting the others. Survivors must evade detection or eliminate the slashers to win, but they automatically scream every thirty seconds, revealing their position.

Two new weapons are available through the Battle Pass. The Dresden 9mm is a hard-hitting SMG with controllable recoil, and the Merrick 556 is a versatile assault rifle that excels at range and rewards accurate headshots. A new GPR91 Double-Barrel Conversion attachment allows that weapon to fire two rounds simultaneously.

Zombies mode receives the Haunted Havoc limited-time event on a decorated Liberty Falls map. Zombies don pumpkin heads, have reduced health until round 15 but deal increased damage. Defeated zombies may drop Jack-o’-Lanterns containing valuable loot like Ammo Mods and Scorestreaks, though some might be Mimics in disguise. Completing Main Quests on Zombies maps rewards players with exclusive GobbleGums and XP.

A new Daily Login event offers rewards such as the X52 Resonator Special Weapon and a GPMG-7 Muzzle Booster attachment for simply logging in during the season.

Substantial updates to RICOCHET Anti-Cheat are now in effect, leveraging advanced machine learning to identify cheaters more effectively. The system now provides clearer in-game notifications regarding TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot requirements on PC.

In Ranked Play, a seasonal rank setback has been applied. Players in Bronze and Silver were unaffected, while Gold and Platinum players were set back to the first tier of their rank. Diamond and higher players restart at Diamond I. New rewards are available, including unique weapon camos and calling cards for achieving specific ranks.

A long list of bug fixes and adjustments has been implemented across Zombies maps like Reckoning and Shattered Veil, addressing issues with zombie pathing, geometry, and mission items. Weapon balancing includes a significant buff to the Gravemark .357, which now reloads 20% faster with a tighter hip-fire spread.

For Warzone, new nighttime variants of Verdansk and Rebirth Island set a spooky atmosphere. The Casual Z limited-time mode introduces zombie hordes that attack all players in Battle Royale and Resurgence. The popular Zombie Royale mode also returns with new undead abilities, such as the Mimic power that lets zombies disguise themselves as environmental objects.

The Merrick 556 Assault Rifle and Dresden 9mm SMG have been integrated into Warzone’s ground loot pool, with most weapons receiving updated, more consistent builds. Several equipment items were rebalanced: the Throwing Knife now deals more damage, the Smoke Grenade’s carry limit was reduced to one, and the Thermobaric grenade detonates faster with increased explosive damage.

Buy Station locations on Verdansk have been randomized to create more varied combat encounters. A new melee weapon, the Chainsaw, and the unique X52 Resonator Special Weapon will become available in-season.

Numerous bug fixes resolve issues in Warzone, including problems with Ranked reward camos, teammate damage, and asset display during the Winner’s Circle.
