MachineGames marks its fifteenth year with a substantial new update for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, arriving just weeks after the game’s recent DLC release. The headline feature is the introduction of New Game+, letting adventurers retain their Adventure Books, unspent Adventure Points, currency, and Medicine Bottles from an earlier completed save. Even better, finishing the campaign again in New Game+ rewards players with a fresh ending sequence after the credits roll.
A second notable addition is the Cairo outfit, modeled after Indy’s casual, jacket-free style from Raiders of the Lost Ark. Players can now dress their hero exactly as he appeared during those iconic desert scenes. The update also introduces greater language flexibility, enabling separate selections for spoken dialogue and subtitle languages.
Scheduled for release on October 10, the patch will be available for Xbox Series X/S, PC, and PlayStation 5. Alongside these features, the development team has rolled out a lengthy list of bug fixes and technical improvements.
General fixes address several animation and control problems. For instance, enemies will no longer get stuck in a stumble animation if punched while breaking free from a grab. Another glitch that detached grabbed enemies in tight spaces while keeping them in a grabbed state has been resolved. Camera clipping during a specific finisher move has been fixed, and an exploit allowing players to enter wall squeezes while downed, using the Lucky Hat ability, has been removed to prevent progression blocks.
The patch also corrects a control lock that could occur when restarting a checkpoint mid-save. Using the push button on disguise doors will no longer block passage, and inventory items will properly reset between levels instead of remaining stuck to Indy’s hands.
For the DLC content, the Gladiator puzzle now correctly places pipes, and the animation of a Blackshirt enemy falling from a bridge near that puzzle’s entrance plays as intended. Numerous minor graphical issues throughout the story have been cleaned up.
Region-specific fixes include restoring missing main menu audio for players who quit during the opening cutscene in Peru. In Gizeh, villager NPC clothing now animates correctly with movement. Sukhothai players will no longer hear perpetual boat engine sounds upon arriving at the rebel village at night. An issue in Iraq where skipping the Gina rescue cinematic caused endless Siren sounds has been fixed.
On the interface side, vendor books and guides now display their prices accurately. PC players will find that binding the interact key to the same input as the buy button no longer blocks purchases, and setting Reflections to the lowest quality no longer turns certain objects completely black.
Localization adjustments include corrected text alignment for the Arabic quick-inventory restricted zone warning.
It is worth noting that The Order of the Giants DLC, launched in September, continues the narrative but does not introduce significant new gameplay mechanics.
