– Xbox Game Pass Ultimate’s price has increased from $19.99 to $29.99 per month and now includes Ubisoft+ Classics for the first time.
– Hogwarts Legacy is now available on both the Ultimate and Premium tiers but is not included in the Essential tier.
– The Premium tier offers over 40 new games, including Diablo 4, and provides new Xbox-published games within a year of launch, excluding Call of Duty titles.
– The Essential tier features a curated catalog of over 50 games playable on console and PC, including titles like Hades and Stardew Valley.
– Microsoft has renamed and restructured the tiers, with Premium replacing Standard and Essential replacing Core, each offering different game libraries and benefits.
Xbox Game Pass has significantly expanded its library with over 45 new games, headlined by the blockbuster title Hogwarts Legacy, alongside a major restructuring of its subscription tiers and a notable price adjustment for the Ultimate plan. This substantial update coincides with Microsoft’s decision to increase the monthly cost of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate from $19.99 to $29.99. To help justify this new pricing, the company has integrated the Ubisoft+ Classics catalog into the Ultimate tier for the first time, granting subscribers immediate access to a wide array of Ubisoft titles.
Warner Bros.’s immensely popular Hogwarts Legacy is now accessible to subscribers of both the Ultimate and the newly rebranded Premium tier, which has taken the place of the old Standard plan. However, this magical adventure is not available on the Essential tier, the new name for the former Core subscription.
The Premium tier receives a massive injection of more than 40 new games available immediately. This includes Blizzard’s acclaimed action RPG Diablo 4 and the previously mentioned Hogwarts Legacy. Microsoft clarified that Premium members will get new games published by Xbox within a year of their launch, though this benefit notably excludes Call of Duty titles. This means subscribers should not anticipate playing the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 on its release day this November.
Meanwhile, the Essential tier offers a carefully selected collection of over 50 games that are playable on both console and PC. For the first time, the entire Essential library is now fully accessible on PC, featuring beloved titles such as Hades, Cities: Skylines – Remastered, Stardew Valley, and Warhammer 40,000: Darktide.
