Honor has officially launched the Magic V5 in Europe, claiming the title of the world’s thinnest foldable phone by a razor-thin margin. The device, which debuted in China last month, is now available for order alongside the new MagicPad 3 tablet and MagicBook Art 14 laptop, expanding Honor’s premium portfolio in the region.
The Magic V5 measures a mere 0.1mm thinner than rivals like the Oppo Find N5 and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, though this applies only to the white model due to material differences. It’s worth noting that this measurement refers strictly to the main body, Honor’s substantial camera bump actually adds more bulk than competing models, meaning Oppo retains the slimmest overall profile when including the camera housing.
Where the Magic V5 truly shines is its battery performance. Thanks to an innovative silicon-carbon blend that saves internal space, the phone packs a massive 5,820mAh battery, far exceeding the Galaxy Z Fold 7’s 4,400mAh capacity. This should significantly ease concerns about daily battery life for power users.
Under the hood, the device is powered by Qualcomm’s top-tier Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and offers up to 16GB of RAM. It also features an IP58 / 59 rating for dust and water resistance, nearly matching the ruggedness of Google’s Pixel 10 Pro Fold. The prominent camera array isn’t just for aesthetics, it houses a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP ultrawide, and a 64MP telephoto lens, delivering some of the best imaging capabilities currently available in a foldable. Pricing starts at £1,699.99 or €1,999, positioning it competitively within the premium foldable market.
Accompanying the Magic V5 is the MagicPad 3, a sleek Android tablet with a 13.3-inch 165Hz LCD display. Despite its remarkably slim 5.8mm profile, it doesn’t compromise on battery, offering a 12,450mAh cell with 66W wired charging. It will be available in the UK for £599.99.
Rounding out the launch is the MagicBook Art 14, a stylish Windows laptop constructed from a magnesium-titanium alloy that keeps thickness around 10mm. It features a 14.6-inch OLED display with 3.1K resolution and is equipped with Intel processors, including the Arc 140T GPU. While it leans more toward design than raw performance, it commands a premium price of £1,499.99 or €1,699.
