The upcoming RPG Starfinder: Afterlight promises to bring the beloved tabletop universe to digital life with deep storytelling and tactical combat. Developed by Barcelona-based Epictellers Entertainment, this single-player adventure will immerse players in the science-fantasy world of Starfinder’s second edition ruleset. Players take on the role of a crew member thrust into leadership after their captain vanishes, tasked with gathering a team of unlikely heroes to face an unimaginable threat.

Featuring six recruitable companions, each with unique backstories and moral conflicts, the game leans heavily into character-driven narratives. Among them is an android assassin, showcased in early promotional material, voiced by a cast directed by Neil Newbon, known for his role as Astarion in Baldur’s Gate 3. With personal quests intertwining with the main plot, players can expect a rich, branching experience that rewards exploration and dialogue.

Turn-based combat spans both ground encounters and starship battles, offering strategic depth across multiple difficulty settings, from narrative-driven to brutally tactical. Epictellers estimates a 40 to 60-hour playthrough, with mod support planned for PC versions. Following a Kickstarter campaign, the studio aims to launch an early access version on Steam in 2026.

Ricard Pillosu, CEO of Epictellers, expressed enthusiasm about the project, calling it a collaborative effort with Paizo to honor the Starfinder legacy. “We’re excited to introduce fans to this ragtag crew and the dangers they’ll face across the Pact Worlds,” he said. Early screenshots hint at vibrant alien landscapes and intricate character designs, setting the stage for a visually striking space opera.
