Oppo’s Creaseless Foldable Phone Won’t Launch in Europe

▼ Summary

– Oppo has launched the Find N6 foldable phone, but its “global” launch excludes Europe and the US, focusing instead on key Asian markets, Australia, and New Zealand.
– The phone’s standout feature is its “zero-feel crease,” which is the shallowest on any foldable due to a liquid 3D-printed hinge, making it very difficult to see or feel.
– It features a high-end triple rear camera system with a 200-megapixel main sensor and is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, but its IP56/58/59 rating offers weaker dust protection than some rivals.
– New software features include support for up to four resizable floating windows, and it launches with a separate AI Pen stylus that works on both screens.
– In China, the Find N6 starts at approximately $1,450, with the 16GB global model priced around $1,600, and the AI Pen and case costing an extra $75.

The highly anticipated Oppo Find N6 foldable phone, featuring a near-invisible screen crease, will not be available for purchase in Europe or the United States. Despite initial hints at a broader global release, the device is confirmed for a March 20th launch limited to key Asian markets, Australia, and New Zealand. This regional restriction is disappointing for international consumers, as the device represents a significant step forward in foldable display technology.

The phone’s most compelling feature is its remarkably shallow screen crease, achieved through an innovative liquid 3D-printed hinge mechanism. While not completely gone, the crease is so minimal it is difficult to see or feel during use, effectively removing a major pain point common to foldable phones. The device maintains a sleek profile, comparable in thickness and weight to rivals like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, and comes in a titanium-inspired gray or a vibrant orange.

Performance and battery life are strong suits, powered by a seven-core variant of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset with 16GB of RAM. The substantial 6,000mAh silicon-carbon battery promises all-day endurance. Photography is another highlight, with a triple rear camera system headlined by a 200-megapixel main sensor, complemented by 50-megapixel ultrawide and telephoto lenses. A dedicated color spectrum sensor, borrowed from Oppo’s flagship Find X9 series, aims to enhance color accuracy.

Where the Find N6 shows a slight weakness is in dust resistance, rated at IP56, 58, and 59. This offers excellent water protection but falls short of the superior dust ingress ratings found on some competing foldables. The software experience is enhanced by new multitasking capabilities, supporting up to four active, resizable floating windows simultaneously. The company is also collaborating with Google to introduce AirDrop-like functionality in a future update.

Oppo is launching an optional AI Pen stylus that works on both screens and charges via pogo pins in a companion case. In China, pricing for the Find N6 starts at approximately $1,450, with the 16GB/512GB global model priced around $1,600. The AI Pen and its charging case are a separate $75 purchase.
