They share the same core mechanism as their predecessor but feature a reworked design that Sony claims delivers optimal performance.
A key upgrade for both turntables is the built-in phono stage with three-level gain control, offering greater flexibility when matching with other audio equipment. Sony states this circuit improves upon the one in the LX310BT, utilizing enhanced carbon resistors and a revised grounding layout for superior sound quality. Users have straightforward control dials for selecting record size (7-inch or 12-inch) and speed (33â…“ or 45 RPM), with a 45 RPM adapter included in the box. The construction includes a solid aluminum tonearm with a precision pivot bearing, an aluminum die-cast platter, and a rubber slip mat.
