Nintendo has officially launched its dedicated Nintendo Store app for both iOS and Android platforms, bringing the full eShop experience directly to smartphones and tablets. This expansion makes it easier than ever for customers across the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and much of Europe to browse and shop for Nintendo products on the go. The app represents a significant update, rebranding and broadening the reach of the service that was first introduced in Japan five years ago under the “My Nintendo” name.

Through the new application, users can explore and buy a wide variety of Nintendo items. The app provides access to Switch 2 and Switch consoles, hardware accessories, physical and digital games, and official merchandise. When you decide to purchase an item, the app directs you to a product page within your device’s default web browser to complete the transaction, rather than handling payments internally. While this means purchases aren’t finalized directly inside the app, it still offers a much more streamlined and convenient shopping experience compared to manually navigating to the Nintendo eShop on a mobile browser.

To take full advantage of the app’s capabilities, you need to log in with your Nintendo Account and network ID. Once signed in, you gain access to detailed historical gaming activity. This feature shows exactly which games you played, the dates you played them, and the total amount of time spent. It compiles data from your Switch and Switch 2 systems, and even includes information from older consoles like the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, though for those legacy systems, play history is only available up to February 2020. Previously, this kind of detailed play history was only accessible through the parental controls interface.

Additional functionalities make the app even more useful for dedicated fans. You can enable push notifications to receive instant alerts when items on your wish list go on sale. A built-in news feed keeps you updated on the latest Nintendo game releases and upcoming events. The app also offers a rewards program, allowing you to earn points by checking in at official Nintendo retail stores and events. This new shopping app joins Nintendo’s growing family of service applications, which already includes offerings like Nintendo Music and the Nintendo Today news application.
