A recent celebration of environmental innovation in the video game industry saw fifteen developers honored at the Playing for the Planet Awards and Green Games Summit. These studios were recognized for their outstanding contributions to sustainable game development and for integrating powerful pro-environmental narratives into their work. Among the celebrated winners were major players like Activision for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Wooga for June’s Journey, and TreesPlease Games for their title Longleaf Valley. The event highlighted thirteen games across the Playing for the Planet and Green Game Jam categories, with two additional special awards presented for Innovation and All in for Nature.

In the category of Best Green Storytelling, the nominees included Another Crab’s Treasure from Aggro Crab, Citizen Sleeper 2 by Jump over the Age, Endzone 2 from Gentlymad Studios, Synergy by Leikir Studio, and The Wandering Village by Stray Fawn Studio. The winning title was Synergy by Leikir Studio.

For Best Green Tech, the nominees were Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 from Activision Publishing Inc., GAIADEX from Razer, Jyros from Game Only, League of Legends and Valorant from Riot Games, and Monument Valley 3 from ustwo games. The award went to Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 by Activision.

The Champion Award nominees were Arnaud Fayolle, Joshua Aslan, Laura Carter, the duo of Mathias Gredal Norvig and Celia Zimmermann, and Min-Liang Tan. The winners were Mathias Gredal Norvig and Celia Zimmermann.

Nominees for the Changemaker Award included GreenQuest Innovations, PlanetPlay, Riot Games, TreesPlease Games, and ustwo games. TreesPlease Games received this honor.

The Green Game Jam Finalists and winners were announced across several specific categories.

Longleaf Valley by TreesPlease Games was the chosen title.

The Jam Spirit Award shortlist featured Best Fiends by Playtika, Drive Ahead! by DoDreams, Just Dance 2025 by Ubisoft Paris, My Talking Hank: Island by Outfit 7, and Subway Surfers by SYBO. The winner was Subway Surfers by SYBO.
