Lamborghini has introduced the Temerario Super Trofeo, a purpose-built racing machine set to enter global championships starting in 2027. The official reveal took place during the brand’s World Finals event held at the Misano circuit, marking this model as the sixth entry in Lamborghini’s single-make racing lineup since the Squadra Corse customer racing division first launched.
This new vehicle will succeed the Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2, which has been competing since 2022 and will continue racing through the 2026 season. Under the hood, the Temerario Super Trofeo is equipped with a twin-turbocharged V8 engine that delivers an impressive 640 horsepower. While this powerplant is derived from the road-legal Temerario, the hybrid components have been omitted to optimize performance for the track.
The engine is shared with the upcoming Temerario GT3, which is scheduled to compete in next year’s Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring. Both cars also utilize the same six-speed sequential transmission. Additional technical highlights include an ALU/CFK hybrid chassis, a fully integrated FIA-approved roll cage, ABS braking, and a sophisticated 12-point adjustable traction control system.
Rouven Mohr, Lamborghini’s Chief Technical Officer, emphasized the car’s design philosophy, stating, “The Temerario Super Trofeo is the ultimate expression of our ‘fun-to-drive’ philosophy. We created a car that is the pure racing evolution of the road-going Temerario. Thanks to its direct link to the Temerario GT3, which shares many components, including the engine and gearbox, it is the ideal entry point for those eager to experience the world of GT competition.”
Stephan Winkelmann, CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, reflected on the brand’s racing heritage, saying, “In 2009 we made the bold decision to launch the Gallardo Super Trofeo. Lamborghini was not born as a racing brand, yet our customers, more than 1300 drivers have competed in Super Trofeo, have constantly asked us for a product designed for the track. Over the years, Super Trofeo and customer racing have become a true pillar of our long-term company strategy, strengthening the bond between the brand and its most passionate clients. With the Temerario Super Trofeo we are taking another decisive step, reaffirming our promise to deliver a pure race car for the growing community that joins us during the Lamborghini Super Trofeo weekends.”
