Monster Hunter Wilds Sales Trailed by Rise and Devil May Cry 5

Capcom’s latest financial report for the second quarter of fiscal year 2025 reveals a surprising downturn for its flagship title, Monster Hunter Wilds. Despite an initial blockbuster launch that saw the game surpass ten million copies sold, recent sales figures have dropped sharply. The newest data indicates that Monster Hunter Wilds has been outperformed by nearly every other major Capcom release from the past six years.

During the first half of the fiscal year, Monster Hunter Wilds moved 637,000 units. The first quarter accounted for 477,000 of those sales, leaving only 160,000 copies sold in the second quarter. This sharp decline becomes especially notable when compared to the performance of other Capcom titles during the same period.

For example, Monster Hunter Rise, a game that originally launched over four years ago, sold 254,000 copies. Meanwhile, Devil May Cry 5, which continues to benefit from the popularity of its Netflix adaptation, more than doubled the sales of Monster Hunter Wilds by moving 352,000 units. In a telling comparison, Monster Hunter Wilds only managed to match the sales numbers of the Devil May Cry HD Collection during the second quarter.

The sales data, sourced directly from Capcom’s Platinum Titles page, clearly illustrates the performance gap between the company’s recent releases and its newest blockbuster.
